1050 TI Overclocking

RAM555789

So I overclocked for the first time and as my system has been running stable for a couple hours now, I feel as though I'm good to go. I'm currently using the 1050 TI and I ended up with a +170MHz core clock and a +800MHz memory clock. I'm wondering what the averages are, and if I got a good overclock or not.

If i were u i woulnd overclock. The lifespan of the gpu will be less and your gpu will be hotter than normal just for 5 more fps. (Just a tip :D)

72C is the hottest I've gotten on it, and I gained about 15fps in the benchmark Kombustor. I'm pretty sure that not that hot, and I have my fan speeds set to 70%

This isnt necessarily true. It isn't the actual raising of clocks that increases temp... it is the extra voltage it can require to do it.

So if op has a good card or one with a low factory OC... then chances are he will see very little increase in temps. On top of that unless you modify the firmware/bios on these card then it is pretty much impossible to lower the lifetime of it unless you literally have no case airflow and run it at 110c + all the time.

I have the Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Windforce OC Video Card, and I will say, when I got it I was surprised out how heavy and bulky the cooler was on it.

You could even consulate with miners if your concerned about lifespan. I know there goal is to lower the voltage while gaining core speed so they get max OC with minimum temps.

It is dependent on resolution by the way so results can vary. I'm also in a test program and I haven't gone out and put it into real world tests with games like GTA V.

So I did a real-world benchmark in R6 because I have benchmarked it before, and to benchmark GTA V I would need to take off the overclock and then reapply it and it would be a hassle while with R6 I already know, I had about a 10fps increase, in the house and about 15fps increase while outside.

Damn. I might do that when i buy a 144 hz monitor. I got 120 fps rn avarage. Gimme them +10 fps :). Also it will probably be +20 fps in my case cuz my amd card works better with rainbow six than nvidia cards

there is nothing wrong with overclocking a card. It is almost impossible to kill them
