my harddrive is not being detected by my pc what should i do?

Very nice information you've provided.. Is it a new hard drive an old one? Can you at least give us the system specs...

Go to your BIOS and see your drive boot priorities.

I've had problems like this before.

 

Please try going to "Disk Management" tell us what you see there.

type 'diskmgmt.msc' in the run dialog box

i see one drive called disk 0 with 3 tb

Okay. Right click on it and it should come up with an option like "Start Disk" or "Initialize Disk" or something like that.  This should let you mount the disk and access it.
