Hi Folks

Want to move from a Quosmio gaming laptop onto a desktop.

Been watching a few videos and was hoping you could suggest some parts swaps that would bring the cost down but same spec on the processor and video card.

Thanks

For gaming mostly, will work on it as well, but I dont do CAD or rendering etc

Get a 2600(non X) and not a 2700, scrap the cpu cooler and get a cheaper air cooler like a dark rock 4, find a cheaper power supply such as a grey unit CXM from corsair or a G2 from EVGA around the 650w mark.

Also that is one pricey ass motherboard.

I would drop the soundcard. Swap the seagate for WD (still go with 7200rpm). the Wraith Prism CPU cooler that comes with the 2700x has plenty enough cooling if you want to save money. Go with a lesser MOBO, and for best performance on ryzen look for RAM that has cas-latency 14 and Samsung B-die.
