something wrong with slot or RAM

Hi. have a problem here. Had an 8Gb of ram one stick than i added another 8ram into the motherboard in the right slot... but when i turn on my computer nothing happing even bios dont turn on. just black screen... HELPPPPP p.s tried to swap rams- changed the old ram into new one and it worked but still when i add in the second slot nothing  is happeing...

what motherboard, cpu and ram are you using?

and whats the old RAM?

 

When you mix and match RAM there is no guarantee it will work, even if it is the same model as the old stuff.

the rams are the same they are 

identical

i looked at the manual real quick, do you have both sticks in the red slots?

Did you but them as part of a kit or seperatly?

what if you try changing what slot the new stick is in?

so from what i understand both ram sticks work on their own but not together?

 

have you tried using one ram stick and test all ram slots to confirm all 4 slots work?

also a bios update to a newer version could be a fix if you're not on the latest yet
