Posted August 12, 2018 This poll doesn't make sense. You are comparing two different CPUs with completely different core counts. Everyone knows that the 2990WX beats the i9 overall and especially in multicore tasks. However, they are in a similar price range and the TR beats the i9 hands down. Posted August 12, 2018 I've been team blue all my life but to me, i9 CPUs are never worth it when AMD has Threadripper which is always a step up. mechanical keyboard switches aficionado & hi-fi audio enthusiast switch reviews • how i lube mx-style keyboard switches
 If you have massively Parallel Workloads, then there is no question and the more cores gives you more benefit than higher clock can. Also the higher efficiency and staying inside the TDP specification is also a plus. And there is also the issue of the shitty heat transfer from the Die to the IHS as well, wich is an enormous reason to avoid this CPU at all cost! Only if you do NOT buy bad products you show the company selling it, that you don't want that shit and that they have to make better products... Posted August 12, 2018 Right now. None of them. Cause if i had to those and spend so much money on a cpu. I will wait and see what intel comes up with to respond on threadripper 2.
