Office saving on mac freezing

I am having this frustrating and weird problem with my 2012 Macbook air;  I installed the Office 365 suite on the mac, and it's working just fine - takes a while to load up but it isn't having any trouble running basic word and excel. There is just this one problem, I cannot save anything. Pressing command+S either crashes the program, or if I open the save menu, it tries to load (I think) the one drive locations and freezes completely - thus I cannot save locally either.

 

What gives, do you have any ideas? Who could I consult with these problems, I mean if I was paying for this office suite I would be pretty pissed, its damn expensive - and it doesn't even work...

I thought of that, but the problems where there immediately after installing the software. Should I try anyway?

Have you tried --> Apache Open Office <-- I am not sure, but, I believed that there is a Mac version.
