Audio is gone

Go to solution Solved by EclipseSkye,

Bought the cheapest soundcard in the shop, the Asus Xonar DGX and got audio back.

Mobo: Asus Sabertooth x58

2 days back, my old GTX 570 developed artifacts and went loopy and stuff so I did not touch it for a bit while waiting for a friend to loan an old card to test if the pc is okay.

So yesterday I unplugged the old card and plugged in the GT440 and display worked but for some unknown reason audio just disappeared, with Nvidia's HD audio taking over the audio. Changed it back to the "Speakers" but the sound isn't coming back. The volume mixer shows that the speakers has sound but there isn't.

Speakers are working because when plugged to my phone, sound comes out fine. It's just the PC that has no sound.

Plugging and unplugging the speaker gives a message.

Is the port just dead too or something? I could just go buy a soundcard or something to replace it.

@EclipseSkye

Right click the speaker icon in your taskbar, then click playback devices. Right click all the other audio devices besides the one you want to use and disable them.

Disabled everything. This is left.

Going to try driver sweeper now to remove all nvidia drivers and reinstall.

Uninstall and reinstalled. Still a no go.

I had this same issue two days ago. Somehow I managed to fix it buy just fiddling with my stuff for a while. I mean like 30 minutes and constantly unplugging and replugging in my headphones

Going to try this then
