Gaming/Video rendering PC

Phlex

Hello, its my first time on these forums and im not sure if im posting in right section.

Last time ive built a PC was 4 years ago so needless to say i had a lot to learn when i was building this.

Also, i will use this pc for gaming, recording gaming, and editing/rendering gaming footage.

Here are the current parts i want to put in, keep in mind that my goal was cheap PC.

GPU - GTX760 (i didnt spare any money on this one, i wanted shadowplay so i can record my games) - LINK
CPU - AMD 8350 (seems good for a low price) -  LINK

RAM - DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair, 1600Hz,Vengeace - LINK
MB - ASRock 990FX EXTREME3 - LINK
PSU - Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650-Watt TX Series 80 Plus (Not sure about this one at all)- LINK

I could use your expertise for a good case :P

Please tell me what you think about it, suggest me better parts, tell me if something isnt compatible, thanks :D.

Everything looks good, but the 8350, there is no need for it its literally the same as the 8320 but a tad bit faster, You could overclock your 8320 no problem and get it 3x higher than that. I have a gtx 760 and it runs bf4 like a champ at 55-65 fps on ultra (Depending on map and players) and it runs it at high at around 68-78 (again depending on maps and players, lowest I have ever seen it on was 59. I play at 1080p ultra and have no problems with lag.

Everything in you pc is good I would get rid of the 8350 and get a 8320. ohh and if you plan on overclocking get a hyper 212 evo or something better. its about $30

Case: NZXT PHANTOM 410 (its big and has lots of room for vid cards, I have seen a gtx 680 go in one.

you might want to get a better motherboard. otherwise you might have to do some underclocking. something like a gigabyte ud3 should be fine.

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

Asrock OC Formula 7970XTX Quadfire

G.Skill Ripheartout X OC 7000Mhz C28 DDR5 4X16GB

the voltage regulators on the asrock extreme 3 and 4 are not the best quality and so when you run a very power hungry 8 core cpu it can make them overheat which throttles the cpu down to lower speeds. the gigabyte has better quality vrm's so that it will be able to run the cpu at full speed for lower periods of time without overheating or throttling the cpu. the asus m5a99x pro and evo are also good boards too.

He is 100 percent right. The gigabyte/Asus are good. Power phases (number) and quality are better. Only a few non 990fx boards run 8320/50 well at stock and they are Gigabyte.

This 990fx is good and on sale atm with rebate. I wouldn't skimp on the MB on AMD if you are streaming/rendering. AMD's are like massive Intel chips from 2009. Lots of volts running through them even at stock. Also gives you headroom to OC if you would like to later on. Asus/gigabyte or bust on 8350.

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.

I would do the 8350, but with either a Asus CH-Z, 990FXA-UD7, Asus Sabortooth, or the UD5 depending on budget and how far you may want to OC.

You can always start slow and work your way up.

you will want to go with the black one as the earlier ud3's like that blue one had some bios issues and i don't know if they were fixed.

I would look at the possibility of having one shipped in, maybe from a country next door.

If your only option is to get a 990FXA-UD3 then get a Rev 4.0 board.
