VPN Question

Hello there!

 

Okay, so basically my dad wants to watch some english programs on his computer, but the site doesn't allow him in since we live in Sweden. He asked for my help, and I know that a VPN would fix that problem. However, before I "borrow" my dads credit card and sign up to a VPN service, I have some questions that I know some of you might be able to answer.

 

First question - since me and my dad lives in the same house, if he "activates" VPN and selects an IP from England, how would that affect myself if I were to be in a game? Would my ping jump up all of the sudden? Would I get kicked from the game?

 

Second question - if he activates the VPN, is there no way for myself, to disable it? Considering me and him are both under the same IP, I guess we are both affected at the same time if one were to activate it?

 

Third question - My dad never wanted to invest in a "good" router, so we have a pretty standard one. In order to activate the VPN, do I need to login to our router and do something? I'm not even sure how and IF our router has a website/program.
