Is my GPU Temps suppose to be this high?!

mike123159

So I was playing fortnite and my gpu utilization goes up to around 90-95%, is that normal? Also, then I checked my temps and my GPU is around 75-80 C. Is this normal?

I have a Gtx 1060 6gb

It's a bit high, but not dangerously so. I'd start being worried when it hits ranges of 85-90.

I'd suggest adjusting your fan curve to be a bit more aggressive.

75-80C is normal under load. It's when it starts regularly going over 85C and the clocks start dropping that it becomes a problem.

Ok thank you

you're fine with those temps,

you can create a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner.

Those temperatures are completely within normal range and nothing to fret over.

I would begin to get worried if you were approaching closer to something such as 90°C.

If you want your card to run a little cooler you could set up a custom fan profile through the use of a software such as MSI Afterburner.
