Hi guys!

I have a question for the LTT community and I am thankful for any help!

I have a Dell Inspiron 3650 gaming desktop at home which I purchased in 2016.

Two years later, my computer has become very slow due to not having an SSD and overall I don't really enjoy using it anymore, because it is very slow.

I feel bad not using it since I invested a lot of money for it.

Thus, I wanted to know what options I have now to bring back some life into my computer?

My Dell Inspiron 3650 has the following specifications:

-Processor: Intel Core i7 6700

-Graphics card: AMD Radeon 360 (2GB)

-Ram: 16GB

-Storage: 2TB HDD

The Dell Inspiron 3650 is a very small computer which limits upgradability.

Also, the PSU is not that great and swapping the old graphics card for a new one will be quite a challenge.

I was thinking about taking some core components such as the processor, RAM, and storage and re-use these components for a new computer.

I could sell some other components which I do not need anymore and maybe gain some money from it.

What do you think?

Is there something I could do at this point?

I am happy for any input and thank you for your attention!

Get the SSD this system desperately needs first. A cheap 100 dollar or even 60 dollar SSD can really make a night and day difference on a system.

pretty much an ssd for a boot drive for general use, go pick up an MX500 240gb for $60 or so. a 1060/580 should work if you're also gaming.
