Does anyone know why I cant progress past this screen having just tried to install Ubuntu? Thanks

Does your system have enough ram to run Ubuntu? You need at least 2GB, if it does, then I would suggest trying to restart the installation again, and see if the same problem happens.

Yeah I’m running 16GB of ram, I’m only trying Ubuntu because windows wont boot either.

Only a recent issue.

The only thing I can really think of here then, would be a possible hard drive or SSD problem, does the installer image on a USB boot fine?

I’m only booting it from the “try ubuntu” setting off my usb and this is occurring (however the same happens when choosing to install ubuntu)

That is very odd, im not really sure then what could be causing this, especially if neither Ubuntu or Windows will fully boot.. I think you should possibly test another Linux distro, like Mint, or Lubuntu and see if you can get that to boot.

Maybe try flashing the ISO on your USB again.

And try another flavor, like Kubuntu and Ubuntu MATE, and see what happens.
