I decided to make this post here after watching Linus's newest video, I upgraded my CPU and am experiencing some slight (but noticeable) bottle necking. I was wondering

if anyone here had any help to give or suggestions to as what GPU I should get to fix the bottleneck, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Specs:

- MSI B350 Tomahawk ATX motherbored

- Ryzen 7 1700

- Zotac 1060 6GB

- 16GB DDR4 ram

- 500w psu

I use my machine to play newer games if it wasn't obvious by the specs. Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

I usually always play at 1080p, I was just wondering if there were any specific cards I should go for. This is my first build so I know a decent amount but I dont know everything there is to know. I just want a card that limits the bottleneck as much as possible.

If its just 1080p, 1060 and 580x is perfect

According to several sources there is an approximate 16% bottleneck between the pieces, meaning the GPU is to weak. It's not a huge drop in performance but it's noticeable compared to the Ryzen 5 1500x I used to have

Where are you getting these sources?

I looked at benchmarks with the different cpu's matched with the same GPU. The 1700 did score higher, but a lot of people seem to suggest a 1070Ti or 1080 to pair with the r7 1700

Its recommended maybe cause it has the power to drive those gpus. Dont worry about it.
