Steam cant detect my mic

Hello! (i am not sure if this the right place to put this topic, i'll freeball it and see what happens)

But i have a problem with the new steam update, it cant seem to detect my mic what so ever, I tried all 3 options.

There seems to be (from my knowledge) no mic detect as the previous version's had it!

Any help trying to help fix this problem would be amazing

Hmm... if your mic works just fine in any other application then there can be a workaround.

But I would also contact Steam of this issue and ask them to fix it.

The workaround is:

Get a virtual audio cable software (its free).

Get a Voice Meeter Banana software (also free).

(I recommend to check some YT videos on how to set it up properly).

In short...

you will basicaly just create virtual input and output cables.

Then you set your mic to input into one of the in-virtual cables and then in Steam you set the input device to be the virtual cable.

This does sacrifice the quality of the mic a bit but its nothing that should bother you outside of a proffesional audio/video production.
