i would say 660 i had to choose between the 2 and i went with the 660 and i have no complaints about it, also it depends what company makes either one, but i think the nvidia features at this time makes it way better than the 7850

the 760 can be a soild 100$ more so not a great suggestion.

Amd cards are inflated in price I'd go with the 660

but how much better is the gtx660 than the 7850

they preforme about the same depends on the game bit considering the 660 is cheeper (as low as 170$ for brand-new ones on newegg)

They beat each other in different scenarios at stock but the 7850 overclocks better and pulls ahead.

how about the r7 260x

The 260x is just a 7790 rebrand.

Or should i get the r9 270 when the price come down?

The 270 is a 7870 rebrand. Up to you.

For some perspective:

7770 < 7790, 260x < 7850 < 7870, 270, 270x

If you consider a GTX 660 I wouldn't buy a gigabyte one - I had a Gigabyte GTX660 Ti and the cooler always started to rattle under full load after a few month. This happened with two different cards of the same model, so it might be a common issue with this and other gigabyte cards with a similar cooler. They propably fixed that on recent cards but I'd be careful with previous generation cards.

Yeah, MSI are good right now. I have an MSI GTX 760 myself. It's as quiet as a card can get.
