ASUS Sound Card Essence STX II

Hi folks,

I've installed a new ASUS Sound Card Essence STX II and of the 3 possible sound outputs (analog, headphone, S/PDIF), only the S/PDIF works and while ONLY connected to an external DAC (Audioengine D1 24-Bit DAC), which defeats the purpose of this soundcard.

I bought this soundcard to drive my Sennheiser HD800s (300 ohms).

I've disabled the on-board audio through the BIOS, uninstalled the on-board audio drivers as well as not installing the NVidia audio drivers. I have the newest drivers from ASUS.

When I switch from Analog Out source (headphone, 2 speakers, FP headphone, FP 2 speakers), I hear a distinctive "click" in my case. I'm going to assume it's the sound card clicking because the clicking goes away when I remove the sound card.

The PC isn't crashing or giving me any errors. I only have 2 Playback sources listed: Speakers & S/PDIF Pass-through Device, of which, Speakers is set to default.

I've reached out to Asus support but haven't had a response other than they're working on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would wait for this as I don't want you to do something that voids warranty
