Im planning on buying a 2200g ryzen 3 processor and on pcpartpicker it says that with the motherboard i have chosen i will need to update the bios using another processer before swapping in the 2200g

Will this be a problem ? I dont really want to buy another processor just to update the motherboard and never use it again

Check reviews before you buy it or get it locally and either see if people have said it's got the BIOS update already or, if you buy locally, it will have a sticker on the box that will tell you it's got the latest BIOS. Another option is to call up a local shop and see if they'll do it for a few bucks.

get a 450 chipset motherboard to be safe.

but this issue is more than 3 months old, they should already update the bios in any new motherboards.

unless its an old stocks.
