Hi everyone,

I have the most weird problem.

On the first place, I have a Rampage III formula with a i7 950 with a Sentey GPS-1000w psu. Some time ago, the system start to shutting down when I start a 3D app, randomly, sometimes it shutsdown and sometimes doesn't. But on the last week every time I launch a 3D app, games/benchmark, alllways shutsdown. I have a gtx 770, also I try a gtx 560ti, but did the same.

At first I thought that was my psu, and I tried another, but works perfect, so I think that was the psu. But when I try my psu on another system it works perfect too, like nothing.

So I have a system A with a MB A and PSU A, another system B with a MB B and PSU B. The second system is a I5 4460, with the same gtx 770

I put the PSU A on MB A, doesn't work.

I put the PSU B on MB A, works.

I put the PSU A on MB B, works.

I put the PSU B on MB B, works.

I start to think that my PSU and MB have a bad relationship .

Thanks in advance.

i7-950 is a higher power consumption chip compared to the i5-4460.

I am suspecting the Sentey PSU is acting up.

By the way, how old is that Sentey PSU of yours?

What is the other power supply in your "System B"?

The second psu it's a Sentey SDP650W.

VinZie, also I tried only the 24 pin connector of the 650w psu, and every else from the 1000w and works perfect.

LineusLateTips, it's this model but of 1000w https://www.hardwaresecrets.com/sentey-golden-steel-power-850-w-power-supply-review/

-rascal-, I know the power difference of both cpus, but the stress test on the little oced 950, the 1000w psu works perfect, the problem it's when I launch some 3D app. I start to think it was some software related problem, but I reflash the bios on the gpu, the motherboard, I use a fresh OS with only the gpu driver and nothing, I install the lastest drivers, and the same result. But with the 650w psu work perfect, I don't know. The 1000w has 6-7 years old, and the orther around 5 years.
