USB extension cables slows down connection?

I've got a USB 3.0 4bay hard drive enclosure connected to a USB 3.0 1.5m extension cable to the computer - will it produce slower speeds because of the extension? Or no because the extension isn't that long?

The only limiting factor is distance.

For instance,

It will take longer to travel 100 mi at 60mph than traveling 10mi at the same speed.

 

So the problem is not necessarily a extension cable but just the physical length of the connection between the two.

 

Either way, a 1.5 m addition will not slow down enough for you to notice it.

I've noticed another problem, when I plug the extension cable to USB 2 port, it works but not to a USB 3 port???? I don't know whats going on

I dno about you but a long USB cable for me stops my computer from charging my phone so it could be the same thing for you, try a shorter cable and see?
