Ethernet Working Intermitently

Hi, so i recently completed a build with an i5 7500 and an msi b250m pro-vd and my internet connection is working intermitently. Any site besides google owned domains will have connection for aboutu 5 seconds and for about 20 seconds, i will just get the error ip adress could not be found. I have the latest drivers and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Can anybody tell me what they think the issue is

For example, google and youtube work perfectly fine and it is not intermitent on those sites, but any other site such as amazon or steam, it  works for about 5 seconds and just stops working

Is it only this device or do you see this issue across all your devices on that network?

Only device, my google pixel 2 and surface pro 1 work perfectly fine

Also, local sites such as routerlogin.net (changing netgear settings) dont work

Instead of routerlogin.net does 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 work?

 

If so this is starting to sound like a DNS issue.

No, they only work intermitently, same as routuer login .net It says 192.168.0.1 took too long to respond

If so this is starting to sound like a DNS issue.

Running windows 10 april update with opera browser btw, altho it has the same issue on chomre, edge, etc

That rules out DNS. You said you downloaded drivers. Did that include the Ethernet driver for your motherboard?

Yes, i went to MSI's website, went to b250m pro-vd, support, drivers, windows 10 64, and chose realtek lan driver. I also tried changing the dns to the google public dns and it has the same issue

Also, google domains seem to work in edge even tho its a microsoft browser and using the default dns (I use att uverse, btw)

Would using an external ethernet usb adapter solve my issue?

It sounds like either a configuration issue or some sort of cache problem but I don't know what.

Ok, and yes, I have restarted multiple times. Is there a way to clear cache for internet, not just browser cache

There's a DNS flush, there's a IP renew, there's deleting browser cache, perhaps one or two other things I can't recall but I don't think any of those address this issue. I quite frankly have never successfully diagnosed this type of issue.

 

Was there any issue using the Windows default NIC driver? You could try uninstalling the motherboard NIC driver and see if the default changes anything.

Also, I previously used an amd athlon x4 860k and an asus a68hm-k mobo and it work fairly fine. When I transfered the msi to this windows install, i think it worked fine. I think the problems arrised when reinstalled windows

If anything a clean install is the be all fix all of software bugs/issues unless the version installed has a compatibility problem with the hardware.

If that was the case here you wouldn't have internet access at all.

Sorry. NIC (Network Interface Card) is a acronym for the Ethernet adapter that allows communication between machines across a Network. As you stated you already installed and even re-installed this driver & it didn't help.

Yout could try a PCIe NIC like this one - any gigabit NIC will be fine but this one is Intel

Yes but it will be very slow

It'll be fine but a PCIe card will have lower latency, arguably more important when gaming
