Riser cable for capture card

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but it is more of a motherboard problem than a spesific card problem.
I want to put in a capturecard in my pc to stream console-games (PS3/4), but since my mobo is a m-atx only the one right under the gpu is awaible and if I put something in there it will more or less close up the gpu fans.

I was wondering to put the capture card future way down since the case is an ATX case and use a x1-x1 riser cable, will that work as good in practise as in theory?

Yeah it should work fine. I'd recommend finding a powered riser cable just incase but other than that they are pretty straight forward.

I had an Elgato HD60 Pro right under my R9 380 2GB graphics card for the longest time without issues.

It has a slim profile and really doesn't block the airflow enough to matter.

I would suggest just moving forward with it and if you run into temperature issues, then worry about riser cards.

However, this specific capture card (and in all honesty, I wouldn't get any other internal PCI-E capture card for streaming consoles at 1080P) shouldn't bother anything.
