Go for the ASrock Pro4 B450 board

The 1070ti is a good deal faster with an OC, though if Vega 56 is around the same price you'll save money with a free-sync display vs a G-sync one

Should get a case with actual airflow like a masterbox 5 black

Probably get a better PSU if you're spending that much money on your PC like a seasonic focus gold unit

you don't need the extra fan if you get a better case like the RL06 Pro or H500 from coolermaster.

Should also just get like a 42" 4k display instead of a 1440p 21:9 display

I will be buying parts for my first build(work+game) soon, I've settled on the 1070 but I heard people saying that the zotac 1070ti mini is a better choice.

What do you guys think I should choose considering that the Ti mini is only $20 more than the 1070 here in Canada? I am using a 1440p ultrawide monitor, and playing games like GTA5, Division, Gears of War 4, Forza 7.

Will the prices drop more as we get closer to the 11 series launch day?

1070TI would be a much better choice for 1440p UW gaming than the 1070.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

Why the Asrock motherboard? and is 650W enough for my build?

1070Ti gets 1080 performance when overclocked, so I'd consider it to be a better card than the 1070.

But do I need 1080 performance for 1440p ultrawide?

It's always better to have more performance than not.

650W is fine, I'd just be worried about the actual quality of the PSU.

So how much should I spend on the PSU?

Depends on what kind of unit you get.

I'd look for a Seasonic Focus Gold in the 550-650W range or the Corsair CX550M.

looks to be the best bet from a quick look at gold rated units.

It's just probably the best budget AM4 board around, the board you picked doesn't even have a VRM heatsink over one of the VRMs.

The 1070Ti is close to a 1080 so it'll be better than the standard 1070.

Take a look at the CX650 if you don't want to spend too much on a PSU oh and get a case with decent airflow otherwise the card might start throttling, you shouldn't go for a "mini " card as it'll overheat more and faster, go for a regular sized card

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

If it has a mesh front and comes with some fans it's going to be fine for cooling, Mesh C is also going to be fine

The ASrock Pro 4 B450 board is micro ATX

if you're going that route get the Q300L, probably the best microATX case IMO

The Q300L is the one that actually has airflow

If you have the non X CPU you might as well

takes 2 minutes to overclock it in Ryzen master, just don't go over 1.4V for daily use.

It'll be alright, but any of the $25 120mm AIOs will be better
