Probably would struggle since the Phenoms don't have great single core performance which games need.

Im just wondering since i saw a listening for the cpu and motherboard for 20 euros. Soo with a oc maybe

Even with an OC the single core performance isn't great on Phenoms.

@Konrad_K yeah ik but u never find the motherboards for a decent price. Im just wondering since i saw a listening for the cpu and motherboard for 20 euros. Soo with a oc maybe

The i7 2600/ 2600K fits in the same mobo as the i5 2500K, and oc'ing might help in games (IPC is still terrible), but I doubt it will help in streaming. You are better off saving for that i7, because otherwise you will probably have a bad experience streaming.

@Konrad_K your right from what gen would you start 2/3 ? when choosing a i7 i mean than

Try and look for an i7 3770, it fit's in the same socket as the 2600 but you do get a slight bump in performance compared.

Gen 2 , Soldered IHS, Amazing Overclockers (if going for a K) Ivy vs Sandy Bridge IPC isn't very big from what i remember, and you are still getting a really good chip.

I ran a i5 2320 for a while, which had the soldered IHS on the stock cooler and it ran nice and silent

@Invader-Peridot thanks for that great tip. now i will sure go for a second gen. Still wondering why they dont solder it anymore

I wonder why too, cause im sure intel has lost customers just due to non soldering of IHS anymore, maybe it was an idea to maximise profits. But it's annoying

also Gen 2 will make Motherboard shopping Easier without the anxiety over updated Bios

It has one bend pin in the socket but it works fine

If that's all that's wrong with it then you should keep it and upgrade to an i7 4770K or 4790K if you don't already have either.

Get an i7 3770

Wouldn't work, the Z87 is an LGA 1150 board and the i7 3770 supports LGA 1155.
