Cooler master g100m aura sync

Hi guys, i just built a new rig with the cooler master g100m and an Asus B350 tuf gaming. The cooler its compatible with Aura Sync (or at least the box says so), but the Aura software doesn't recognize it, it just shows the gpu. I connected the rgb cable in the header, but i didn't connect the manual controller for the cooler. Do you need that to use it with Aura Sync?
