5.25" fan controller

Worstcaster

The case I am thinking of getting has 2 5.25" bays.  I'm not planning to put in an optical drive. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZHmxFT/fractal-design-focus-g-black-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-ca-focus-bk-w

Has anyone here used anything similar to this?  https://www.amazon.com/Sunshine-tipway®-Controller-4-channel-Temperature-Digital/dp/B00PBWLMLS/ref=sr_1_53?ie=UTF8&qid=1532601434&sr=8-53&keywords=5.25+fan+controller I could see where having external display of temps and being able to control the fans outside the bios could be useful.  Some of these look really sketchy though.

It looks alright but the manufacturing of it looks really sketch.

I haven't used a combination, but I've had both temp reading display and controller with knobs. It doesn't connect on mobo. You just have molex for power, fan connectors and temp probes. And its quite impossible to put those probes in position where you would get realistic temps. Closes I got with CPU was on top of coolers base plate which was 10C cooler than core. GPU one was tugged inside cooler shroud (I can't remember what temp difference was). Best placements for those sensors were at intake on top of HDD and close to exhausts.

I wouldn't recommend a controller with a screen, they tend to fail after a while

mine is a standard one, you know black with 5 knobs and has been working for 4 years

just like this one but without the ports
