Cheapest 2666 1x8GB RAM Stick that is compatible with Ryzen?

you just shouldnt buy a single stick for Ryzen. Even if that means getting a 4 stick mobo from the start for budget reasons.

Went to Newegg.com and did a little looking around using their search and sort functions and came up with this.

It is the cheapest 1x8 gig stick of ram they have.  Currently at $70.99.

The AB350 PRO4 microatx board from asrock have 4 slots and are reasonably cheap.

Is there a reason you want just 1 stick of RAM?

If you're trying to save money, don't get just 1 stick of RAM for a Ryzen system. Dual channel goes a long way for performance.

Yes there is. I want to upgrade to 16GB 2x8 in the future because I don't have the budget rn and I don't want to pay double because my mobo has 2 Slots.

In that case, go for the one I linked or something cheaper just as long as the CAS latency is consistent. I.E: "15-15-15-35" and not "10-12-12-32" or something weird. Ryzen processors might not be able to hit the rated clock speeds if the latency is not consistent.

 

When you're upgrading to 16 gigabytes down the road, make sure you buy the exact same stick or something with the same timings. It will save you a headache.

It's okay man, you have to start somewhere.

 

 

We are talking about RAM which is the kind of storage that is used by the system to hold something temporary and delete it after shut down. A ram module can be DDR4 depending on the mobo it's like a version. The 2666mhz is the rated speed which it can go without oc-ing and the latency or the numbers like 15-16-16-35 is the delay between operations. A RAM Module pulls power which is measured in volts. The higher the voltage the higher the temps and generically speaking the higher the clocks.
