I've recently upgraded my graphics card from an RX560 to an Nvidia 1070, the model is the inno3d iChill x4. As well as this I upgraded my PSU from a dodgey second hand 580W PSU to a Coolermaster Masterwatt lite 600. It turns out this power supply Isn't enough for my setup, but how could this be? Or is there another issue? And if it isn't enough how much do you i think I need?

GPU: Nvidia 1070 Inno3d iChill x4

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600X

CPU Cooler: Coolermaster masterliquid 120

Storage: Sandisk 256GB SSD, 350GB 7500RPM HDD.

RAM: 8GB Corsair led vengeance.

Motherboard: A320M PRO-VD PLUS

Extra: Gaming mouse, gaming keyboard, recording mic (with separate power supply), HD webcam, 2x 120mm led fans.

The power supply should totally be enough, my system has 8700k, MSi 1070 Sea Hawk and I have a 750w corsair now but before I had a 600w PSU. What is happening to make you think it might be the PSU?

What do you mean by this? As far as I am concerned your system will never pull more than 600W, thus meaning you shouldn't have any issues.

So if I open MSI Afterburner and set a power limit so the GPU can only use half the power Its okay - but of course doesn't have as good performance. If I leave it on ordinary powertarget and I watch the percentage of the powersupply that the gpu uses it goes up to 80% and then crashes - I guess because its using too much.

It sounds like you have either a bad PSU or GPU, did you swap them both at the same time? Also are they new or used and do you have a spare PSU and or GPU to test with?

Okay so whenever I run a game I watch CPUID HWMonitor and the "powers" section states that it uses like 30% of the PSU's power (or I think thats what it means) thenn when I start gaming it rocks up and up to 80 and 90% before crashing.

Might be a faulty GPU or PSU. You could try returning the PSU and getting a different one. For the wattage, the PC will use under 250W, so just get a Pure Power 10 400W, Vengeance 400W, CX450/M, Formula 450W or Focus 450W. Depending on what's available.

There is no way for the PC to know how much power the PSU can deliver, it's not that.

Yes, it's bad. Any company is equally capable of selling crap, so don't buy by brand, buy by product. It's not made by Cooler Master, it's made by someone else; not that it matters

I don't know of a program that does off the top of my head but you can configure your system in PCpartspicker.com and it will give you a max power output. Where did your GPU come from and did you upgrade them both at the same time?

Firstly I literally bought it from Coolermaster, http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/power-supplies-by-wattage/masterwatt-lite-600w-full-range/

And secondly do you know any programs to tell me what watts each component is using?

He was saying Cooler Master doesn't actually make anything in it, bar the fan. Cooler Master has FSP/CWT/Seasonic etc make their units for them like 99% of brands out there.

And HWiNFO64 can get close for CPU package power, but fret not, your system isn't even drawing 300W. You need separate hardware to measure power draw from the wall and some math to measure power draw from the PSU once you have the power drawn from the wall. Here's a status update where I talk about my system's power draw which is quite a lot more than yours, measured with a Kill-A-Watt.

Hopefully you haven't OC'd your CPU? That motherboard's VRMs are absolutely bottom-of-the-barrel and could be overheating.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Can't overclock on A320, fortunately.

You can with software, unfortunately xD

Ryzen Master will let you, despite being on the weakest chipset with shit for VRMs.

Are you REALLY sure my pc isnt using anything close to 500w? My graphics card would run at over 2000Mhz core clock and over 4000Mhz memory clock, My processor is running at 3700Mhz and all my fans are on full except the new graphics card.

Yes, I'm very, very certain. Your PC uses less than mine unless your system is very heavily OC'd, which I hope you aren't doing with that motherboard.

Its not a particularly good one, but it could be worse.
At least its far better than the last one you had...

Either way, its just a power supply, it doesn't really affect performance.
