Mac section?

HrutkayMods

I know it’s sacrilegious but there’s a lot of Mac users watching LTT that are also here on the site that would love to help others. It could be a general Mac section. I only see a macOS section... a general Mac section would be nice

CPU: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3960X | Motherboard: Intel DX79SR "Stormville" | RAM: 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series DDR3 PC3-12800 (4x 8GB) Quad-Channel | GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 970 FTW 4GB in SLI (I have Many other builds plus 100+ Macs (don't judge me)... Many specs are listed on my profile)

There really isn't enough posts about Macs for one to be needed.

If anything it'd just make people post more Hackintosh threads which are against community standards.

Pretty much this. Other than when some controversy arises (like the 2018 i9 throttling issue), very few people specifically talk about Mac hardware - because what you get from Apple is basically it. They aren't really fixable, moddable, or upgradeable anymore, due to the way they are constructed. Where they are upgradeable or extendable, it's no different from a PC and so would fit in the specific hardware sections - this is especially true with the 2016+ MacBook Pros that need dongles for anything that isn't USB-C or Thunderbolt.

The MacOS section makes sense though since it's an entirely different platform from Windows, and so it has a lot of interesting information for users of the platform, but I can't see the same argument for an Intel mac - under the hood, they're basically just PC's.

OS kinda has own section. With Linux and other Unix-based systems. Hardware goes already nicely under Laptops and prebuilds (MacBook and iMac) or Phones and tablets (iPhone, iPad, iWatch).

Considering that this is rarely asked thing, it's not likely to happen. Another thing to look at is tolerance. PC peasants aren't the most tolerant towards other users. Having own Apple section could increase the divide between "us and them" even more. Now when threads are somewhat mixed there isn't as big urge for trolling or flame-baiting. Not saying that it doesn't still happen. But at least they don't have red cloth to charge upon.

Well wouldn't be too bad of an idea as some issues are MacOS Specific being a Unix based operating system. I don't see a massive need for it to be 100% honest with you but would be nice.
