Would a new receiver or amp benifit new speakers?

Well two days ago, I bought my first speakers that were not hand me downs. Pioneer sb22's. Amazing speaker, but I have a technics SA-EX110 receiver, which is a hand me down as well. I was wondering if a new amp or receiver would benefit the new speakers in sound quality or anything else that is important. If yes, then what would you recommend?

It is possible, I haven't heard that receiver, but considering I see one for $50, probably so.

If you mean the SP-BS22-LR bookshelf speaker then as long

as your amp is functioning correctly it would be able to drive them no prob.

 

It's not an audiophile amp by any means, and it only goes down to 40Hz.

But with little bookshelf speakers that only go down to 55Hz thats not a problem.
