I’m am going to be using the msi x470 gaming plus with a ryzen 7 2700 and a gtx 1080 I just bought the Corsair vengeance rgb 3000mhz 16gb ram kit is that ram going to work

Should work. Don't see why it wouldn't.

If it doesn't, then return it to the store and get a new kit because the first one's defective.

Check the QVL if you motherboard. If it is DDR4 ram Its very likely

Yes, they'll all work.

basically, as long as you get the correct type of ram for your motherboard (eg, DDR4 at basically any speed for a new system at this time) then it -should- work fine.

 

the issue is more when you get into overclocking and so on, that some types of ram will go higher than others. if you're just running it "stock" then pretty much any DDR4 should work for that board.
