I'm purchasing a Ryzen i7 2700 system and I have a unopened msi gtx970 that my brother in law gave me. Will it cause any problems in the system? Should I get a newer card or can I use the card for the system

Thank you

It's a great card. You shouldn't have any problems.Overclock the snot out of it to get better than stock 1060 performance.

Amazing card, but keep in mind that after it utilizes 3.5GB of its VRAM, the 0.5GB is slower. But still it performs really well in most games.

I would use it and be happy.

It's a great card and you won't get better performance unless you spend a few hundred on a GTX 1060 / RX 580.

Even then, the GTX 970 will be on par or even better in some titles.
