PC Plan. First Build. Gaming PC

Here is the rig I made so far: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/T9QmxG

1. Budget & Location

My budget is around 1250$ CAD.

2. Aim

The aim is being able to run AAA games like BF1 or the upcoming BO4. I also want to do some video editing with things like motion tracking and other medium level tasks. I also need this rig to do some blender animations but not for the main focus. Just as a side note, I need WiFi on the motherboard. I will not be OC. Also, I don't need more than 500gb. I have a lot of external space for files.

3. Monitors

One 27' 1080p 60hz monitor. I might upgrade but only to one with a higher refresh rate and will keep 1080p.

4. Peripherals

I have all the peripherals but I am upgrading my keyboard. The budget for my keyboard is separate and I already know the model I will purchase. As for OS, I will be creative. I do not need a key.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I am upgrading as my current rig is 10 years old and can't even run low graphics games like Fortnite at over 60fps at low 720p. I have no good up-gradable parts in my current rig.

I'd really suggest upping the i5 to an i7. The 1060 is a good choice for the GPU. I'd also suggest going with 16GB of RAM. I know DDR4 is expensive right now but it's worth it. I know it might end up costing more in the end but it would be worth while. If you insist on the i5 then just up your RAM.

My first system was built because I insisted on not waiting until I saved more and I wish I would have saved more instead of building it when I did.

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

I'd maybe consider hunting down an 8700 on Reddit, but other than that looks like a nice build.

Do you not need much space? 500GB will disappear extremely quickly.

Agreed, I initially got my first SSD as a boot drive and to also install the adobe suite onto. That 120GB went real fast so I added a 250GB. @python_coder16 I'd suggest the 500GB SSD + an additional 1TB HDD or just a larger SSD.
