guys I have SCOURED amazon, and Im thinking maybe what I want just doesnt exist.  I need a good powered dock, preferably thunderbolt 3,  but usb c or 3.1 is fine as well.  I need the kind that you plug in a  bare drive.  However, Im also looking for one with SD Card slots, and maybe a usb port or two.  solely to keep the number of cables down.   Anyone have any good suggestions?

FYI, im buying a External NVME drive, hence the desire for thunderbolt 3.

Thunderbolt is kind of pointless for hard drives because USB 3.0 is more than enough for them.

Not true for NVME drives.  USB 3.1 is 10gbps  or 1.25 GBps.  the drive reads at 3GBps.  USB 3.0 is even slower

I didn't see the last part.

If you're looking for just a Thunderbolt 3 dock with an SD card reader and a Thunderbolt connector, there's plenty of those on the interwebs. You can look at The Wirecutter's guide for some recommendations. If you need all that and an HDD docking station, now you're out of luck. At that point, get the two items separately.

Im thinking thats what im going to have to do.. I was just looking for a cheap thunderbolt 3 hub that just has a couple of usb ports and a card reader,  and doesnt cost $250.    Ill just have to stick with my usb to sata cables for now. (annoying.)
