I have a MSI R9 290x lighting as my main GPU. It replaced a ASUS R7 260x. Is there any advantage or something i can use that old card in conjunction with my Lighting?

No, not really. You can use it if you need more monitors than the 290X supports but that's about it.

Probably not.

The only case i can think of that might matter in your case is that if you have multiple monitors but not a surround setup, you can connect the 290x to the main monitor and the 260x for the other monitor(s) so all the power of the 290x will be used for gaming.

I do have 2 monitors. I like that idea. ill have to give it a shot.
