Which cpu-cooler?

Hello guys!

I am not sure, which cpu-cooler i should buy...

I will buy an i5-8600k and overclock him to ~5GHz.

Should i buy a BeQuiet dark rock pro 4 or a noctua nh-d15?

Thanks a lot

Either would be fine. I like Noctua mounting hardware so it gets my vote.

Either the BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro4 or Noctua NH-D15 would be suitable for overclocking a 8600k.
There's people who don't like the appearance of the Noctua, so if you're one of those people then go with the BeQuiet. If you don't care about how it looks, go with whichever is cheaper.

Don't buy an 8600K, the i7 8700 makes more sense to buy, or Ryzen 5 instead for less compared to the i7.

I will use the pc only for gaming, for video edititing and programming, i have my macbook...

But i cant overlock the 8700 and some games that i wanna play (e.g. arma 3) there are high clockrater more important than cores

So for only gaming the i5 would be enough i think (i will buy a gtx 1080). What do you think about it?

I still don't think it's worth losing hyprethreading for just 700mhz the 8700 still turbos to 4.3ghz all core, you'll likely only end up with like 10-20fps at most, when it's already running pretty fast. It'll also be easier to cool the i7

What's your monitor resolution/refresh rate?

I'd go for the i7 8700, price should be close in the end due to cheaper motherboard and cooling.

And look into how much cheaper a 1070ti is, as it has the same performance as the 1080 with a 5 minute OC.

Not so much, but if the difference is that small probably just grab the 1080 if it has a decent cooler

Or Vega 56 actually...because then you get free-sync and I think the price was comparable

Vega 56 can be improved with quick undervolting to get close to a 1080, up to you if free-sync is worth it at that point.

The difference is small. The NH-D15 performs better and the DRP4 is quieter.
