New build not Posting

Thirdoh
Go to solution Solved by Rainbow Dash,

So from what I can see, you have the ram in the wrong slot. Ignore the random markings I have on the image, just trying to see what you have plugged in and stuff.

I just finishing my first pc and I was going to install win 10 but it doesn't post at all. It turns on and the fans spin but that's about it.

My new PC's specs are

CPU: i7 7700k

Motherboard: ASUS B250F

PSU: EVGA SUPERNOVA 750 G3

GPU: 1080ti

RAM: 1x16 GB Kingston HyperX Fury

Any suggestions?

First system post can take a LONG time. Usually takes 10 or so seconds, but I've heard of instances where it can take up to several minutes.

I think the b250F has POST-code LEDs. They should give you a lot of info regarding the error you have.

My guess? Ram not seated correctly.

Post code LEDs are located just above the 24-pin motherboard power. Here's the manual, since you didn't read it: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/STRIX_B250F_GAMING/E12379_STRIX-B250F-GAMING_UM_V2_web.pdf?_ga=2.158421816.361702171.1531557414-1866563131.1502473798

Also, forgive me for aksing for this but you mentioned this was you first PC. IS the CPU power plugged in all the way as well? It's on the top left of your MB.

They're called POST state LEDs in the manual

But what happens when you turn the PC on? They are supposed to light up one after the other and stay on if there is a problem with the corresponding device.

I know this sounds stupid but it stalled me for 10 minutes but make sure to switch to the right input on your tv/monitor. Just a thought.

Then the issue may not be the PC but the display/cable

Maybe it’s not getting enough power, I know your power supply is enough but maybe try changing outlets or try not to use an extension cable

Also, for some reason, when plugging a video cable into a PC that had no video cable plugged when turning on, it won't display until reboot. This goes for several of my previous rigs as well.
