I recently completed a budget build with a gtx 780 after i inserted it booted up for the first time and tried to install the drivers the drivers failed. I checked device manager and my bios and both weren't detecting it.

I have slight suspicion that my psu is the problem otherwiseit could be the molex to 8pin I had to use because my psu doesn't have an 8pin connector

What PSU do you have? You should really use a PSU with proper 8-pin PCI-e connections. Never liked adapting things, especially when it comes to power delivery. It's not something you would want to have a janky solution for (unless you love exciting fires). Have you made sure you have your video cables plugged into the GPU rather than the rear motherboard I/O? It's a common mistake.

If you have to use a Molex to PICe adapter, get a new PSU. That thing is a ticking time bomb for that system.

Just like how my Molex to P4 power adapter caught fire while the system was unplugged, stored in the corner of my room.

Need to ensure the can power the 780 properly. Kepler’s are power houses. Don’t like being under powered. 40 amps on a single 12v rail is preferred. Assuming the cpu is decent.
