Ryzen overclocking....

chosen

So I built a new pc with the R5 1600 and an Asus prime b350 plus motherboard... and I clocked it to 3.6 and also tried 3.7 but my task manager says its running at 1.37 GHz I could use some help with this!

And you assume task manager is right, because?

Run a proper monitoring tool, like HWMonitor and keep track of both clock speeds and temperatures.

Im thinking it could be the voltage but 3.7 is only a 100 MHz difference from its turbo.

Are you using adaptive voltage or full manual?

Have you disabled "core performance boost" and "AMD cool and quiet"?

have you set power management in Windows settings to use the Ryzen power plan?

is this 1.5GHz under load or just idle?

I use AIsuite 3 on the prime B350 plus, because every time I tried putting in a voltage in bios, it went to 1.3ghz because the voltage was really low.

My 1600 is running at 4.1ghz at 1.37V if your wondering, but gradually increase the core clock until it becomes unstable in prime 95 or OCCT, then dial it back to the last known good speed. Also have a good AIO or air cooler, don't try and use the included one.

I make intelligent lights do cool things
