Using an Imac as an External Monitor

Azurek

Good day to everyone,

In short, we use Imacs at work and it keeps crashing since I have to use Accounting programs. Please Help me.

Can I connect my Dell XPS (9560 I believe, 15" 2017) to an IMac (21.5", 2017 with macOS High Sierra)? I want to use the Imac as an external monitor to my laptop.

Can I use a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the monitors?

I have made some research online and have found many different answers... some say you can if the Imac is between 2011 and 2014, others say you can even if its 2017 as long as it is not another model than the 21"....

Thank you,

Yes i saw this one as well, but others say that it works with a PC as well. I am just looking for someone who's actually been able to do so.

Nah it's not possible at all. It's Mac to Mac only. Target Display Mode cannot communicate with Windows. Oh and it's unsupported since the 2015 iMacs.
