Which do you prefer? I got a Nexus 7 2013 for xmas and i'm running stock android 4.4.2 and was wondering if I should get CM11. What are the benefits of CM11 over stock?

If you like stock, CM is just that with a few more powerful UI elements and tools built in.

Agreed, CM is just better

I like stock if the device is up to date on Android versions as they are usually more stable than custom roms. I only use custom roms if the Android version that I want is not available on stock firmwares.

I would say wait at the moment. CM 11 has only just come out and while it is pretty stable, it still does not have all the features that you would expect and some things are a bit buggy. When a release candidate or stable build comes I would suggest updating it then but until then I would wait.

My rig: i5 2500k, MSI Z77A G45, Gainward GTX 980 Phantom, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, OCZ ZT series 750W PSU, 1TB HDD, 800D, fully water cooled. I am currently working on modding my HAF 912+ to fit a custom loop, here is the build log: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/165963-project-viridis-water-cooled-haf-912/

Since you have a Nexus, Stock 4.4.2 & Xposed with GravityBox. Not that I'm saying CM isn't stable, but with this setup, you get all the neat features from a custom rom as well as the stability. Xposed is great because everything is through modules, so you can enable or disable features completely to your liking. If you want PrivacyGuard like in CM, I'd recommend XPrivacy with Xposed since it's pretty much Privacy Guard but better as it's much more specific with permissions management.
