i am planning to upgrade my pc, but the benchmarks i have run have shown mixed results. i mostly play FPS like Fallout and Far Cry. i usually get around 70-80% gpu usage and 70-80% cpu usage.

my specs:
fx 6300
gtx 670 2gb
16gb ddr3 1600MHz
Gigabyte 970A-UD3P Motherboard
550w evga 80+ psu
2 x 1tb hdd
windows 10 64 bit

for an upgrade i plan, for CPU bottleneck, upgrade to an i5 8400 with 8gb ram, or GPU bottleneck, a gtx 1060 3/6gb.

Honestly I'd just save up for a complete system redo in the fall when the 1160/1150 come out. You need to replace so much, that Black Friday sales are going to be your best friend.

around £250-£300 or 300-350 in $

Never quote a foreign currency. Their pricing is irrelevant to you ;)

Unfortunately you won't get anything decent for this sort of budget, keep using what you have for the moment and save more money (minimum £450-£500).

Get a GPU upgrade for now.

Grab a GTX 1060 or a RX 580 8GB (whichever is cheapest)

Upgrade the CPU, MOBO and RAM next year after saving about up 200-300£.

2019 is going to a crazy hardware year.

Better option would be to save up for a total overhaul.

If you really need a upgrade you can grab a R9 290x or an GTX 780ti for £120-150 on the used market
