Hi.

The other say I got an Intel Optane 16Gb M.2 stick. I installed it onto my Asus Prime Z370-A Motherboard running an i5 8600k. I then got the software from Intel's website, but found I couldn't even run the installer. Because of this, I contacted Intel support, and after a Window's reinstall to change from BIOS to UEFI.

After that, the installer now works, and it set itself up correctly. After the required restarts, I tried to enable Optane, but the program said it ran into a problem, and force closed. This then brought up a popup in the corner that says to click it for more details, which only re opens the program to cycle the same process again, showing no details of what happened.

After browsing around the PC, I found that the Optane stick is not even being detected in BIOS, or in Disk Management or DiskPart. If anyone has had this problem, or knows a solution, I'd love to hear it.

Extra something you might want to know: Windows 10 is installed on my SSD, a Samsung 850 EVO 250Gb, and I am trying to accelerate my HDD, a Segate Barracuda 2TB

If you're sure it's installed properly then it could still be a incompatibility error.

I'm not sure if you've already read this, the site says you have to use EZ Flash 3 to update the BIOS.

Hope this helps, let us know :)

I did use EZ flash to update my bios, and it is at the most current. And everything i've read suggests it is fully compatable, its just not working.

It seems like you've done everything right on your end, I'd keep in contact with Intel support for any other suggestions on their end. Contacting ASUS support wouldn't hurt either.

But it seems you may have to return it for a replacement. :(

Let us know how you go.
