I know it says for phanteks cases but a 4 pin 12v cable is the same no matter the case right? I dont have a RGB port on my motherboard (MSI Z97 Gaming 5) which is why I am looking at this.

Would this allow me to control the lights on the front of my case if I plugged it into my HUE+? I have tried plugging the RGB cable from my case directly into the HUE+ before and it didn't work.

(Dark Base 700)

Unless you have addressable RGB LED's they will not work with the NZXT Hue+.

its the default front leds on the db700, i believe they can be changed if you plug them into your motherboard's rgb header since db700 has a rgb cable

i can change them with the button on the front but cant actually change them via software since i dont have a rgb port, thus why i want to know if that cable would do the trick

Those are not addressable LED's then, you can plug them into a 4 pin analog RGB header for a motherboard but absolutely not onto the NZXT Hue+. They are completely different protocols and voltages.
