Higher resolution or refresh rate?

Ok so looking at upgrading my monitor from the tv I've been using. 

 

Also if it helps Im planning on getting a 290x or 780 alongside this.

 

I was wandering what monitors people prefer either a 120/144hz monitor or a 1440p or 1600p monitor,which would you choose,

 

I mostly play games like batman, far cry and crysis, but also enjoy the occasional battlefield or cod: ghosts when my friends are online.

 

Also which will I notice more a greater refresh rate or greater resolution, also taking g-sync into account would a g-sync monitor be better than a 1440p monitor. 

 

And does anyone on know a cheap korean monitor and import charges for uk?

If you are wanting to spend LOTS of money on a G-sync monitor then you cant have an AMD card (so far........).

Also i kinda figure that if you have a 780 and other top end GPU's there is no need for G-sync and your FPS will be insane anyway.

 

1080,1440p seems to be what everyone's going for, some Korean monitors are great as they use Samsung screens. As for the charges I suggest EBAY

1440p. (I love my PA278Q)

I prefer higher resolution over higher refresh rate, go for 1440p.

Also think it's worth waiting for 4k to drive 1440p prices down or do you think that will take too long?

I think it will take too long... Go with 1440p now...

Id prefer Gsync+Higher refresh Rate over Higher Resolution.

But if ofcourse my PC could handle the higher Resolution as well as 1920x1080 id go with the higher Resolution.

if you play mostly SP games go for higher res, if you play mostly MP games go for higher refresh rate.
