It depends. What resolution are you gaming at? How many monitors do you plan on gaming on? We need more information.

I will be gaming in 4k. Is it benifitable to have dual gpu? Are games utilize them?

Also should i take the 290x or just take the 290 and OC it

Pelop go with this :3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125500

Gigabyte is a much more reputable Company than sapphire and probably has better cooling than the tri-x r9 290.

This is the Gigabyte windforce r9 290

If you're going to seriously game at 4k, get 2 R9 290X's.

If you have the money for a 4k monitor, you can afford $1000 worth of GPU's :P

I would never game at 4k. 1080p is good enough though i may upgrade to 1440p near summer.

Pelop I would really reccommend the card I linked you. I have not Heard one bad thing about gigabytes windforce, in fact some people prefer it over the Twin frozer and DCUII which are released in around 2 months.

Not for 4k! You need tons of vRAM for 4k gaming. It's 4x as many pixels as 1080p!

The 290X's 4gb of vRAM will seriously help your gaming.

780

At 4k, you need every little bit of performance possible. If you want to take the risk of getting a bad overclocking GPU, get an R9 290

ok 290x is the best card for 4k! right?  i wouldnt get a 780ti cause is very expensive. The 290x is the best choice. Also in game performance which is better still the 290x?

780ti would beat the 290X at 1080p and maybe even 1440p. But, the extra and vaster vRAM will help once you get up to 4k. So, in my opinion, the 290X is your best option for 4K.
