any site for us to look for parts?

The PSU is outright bad, only use those ranked tier 3 or higher.

Is that Kingston's A400 SSD?

Other parts like the mobo, graphics card can also be upgraded, but at least they arent critical problems.

I don't know why everyone from tomshardware and linustechtips are so wary of PSUs. And everyone says that the Corsair VS series are bad.

The ones that are bad are the cheap PSUs that usually say switching power supply of some sort and doesn't even have a 6-pin power connector. They can't supply even half of their rated power, but 90% of them lasts for more than 3 years. We call them "generic PSUs". They could catch fire though if overloaded.

I have a partnership on an internet cafe. 224 units are using Corsair VS450. Setup is:

Intel G2020

GTX 750 ti

4gb RAM

No hard disk - Units boot from Gigabit LAN

Corsair VS450 PSU

Systems have been running now for 5 years almost 24/7. The only times we shut down the PCs are when there's a natural calamity or when it's Christmas and New Year. Failure rate is very low. As of this writing, failed components have been:

2 Palit GTX 750 Ti - No video signal. I can't remember when these failed.

1 Corsair VS450 - Fan will spin then stop. CPU fan and case fans would spin too then stop. Didn't damage any of the components though. This specific unit started having this problem before a year. Should've had it replaced then but didn't bother because it rarely happened. Just had to do some plug and unplugging with the ATX cables and the problem gets fixed. It became a lot worse with the years that came so we had to replace the PSU. All components still worked great. Replacement of cheap PSU solved the problem.

In conclusion, in a span of 5 years with 224 units. Only 1 VS450 unit failed. And it's probably a defective one to begin with. It's assumed to not damage any components as well.

Please do note that I'm not pleaing for the acceptance of low quality PSUs. I'm just giving my thoughts on the VS series in which I think they're actually good. I bet there are a ton of other name brand PSUs that are regarded as bad, but would perform similarly to what is noticed with the VS450. I was thinking: EVGA 500B and some sorts.

@forregacc02 because our hardware cost a LOT more than what you've built, so we consider the cost of a PSU very cheap, pocket-change cheap. For a mid range build today, a CPU cost $175, a mobo costs $80, 16GB DDR4 cost $150, Graphics card cost $250, SSD costs $50, HDD costs $40, total of $745. How much does a PSU like the 500B cost? $25? a good PSU can costs twice as much, but that's still a tiny amount of money (7%) compared to the hardware it's powering. Not to mention we buy cases, case fans, keybaords, monitor, mouse etc. All that makes the proportion of expense on a PSU tiny, and we will spend that bit of money for assurance that our machines are safe.

GTX 1060 3GB is much better than a GTX 1050 Ti.

CX550 is fine, if the CX450 is available you might be able to save a bit. 450W is more than enough to power this build.

If you can squeeze in a 240GB+ ssd, that would be great.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Thanks bro...
