In mounting ways? Yes. A Cherry MX is the same construction as a Razer switches (I believe they use Greetech as an OEM at the moment). A Gateron, Outemo, Kailh and all the other 'Cherry MX clones' will work too.

Keep in mind a Cherry MX Blue will feel a bit different than a Razer Green switch though, even though one is based on the other.

Key switches on low end keyboards are soldered. Are you intending on taking the entire thing apart? Are there no warranties or anything available?

The switch itself should fit. The MX type key switches are quite common.

im not talking about the functioning switch itself. i am talking about the keycap itself. I need to replace my W keycap on my blackwidow v2.

Then yes. The Cherry stem is quite standard. If you're only replacing the W key cap, make sure to get a replacement that has the same profile as the original ones.

Wait, keycap or keyswitch?

Keycap is the plastic thing with the letter on it, while a keyswitch is the part under the keyswitch that is basically the whole mechanism.

If you just need to replace the keycap: yeah for sure!
