Asus motherboard not working? Or ram? Dram led not turning on

Hi
My asus m5a99x evo r2.0 that I got today doesn't seem to be working? Or is it the ram?

All the fans spin, don't stop spinning, but the dram led light isn't on. The cpu led flashes, and then turns off, and the boot device led is on, so it's definitely not the hard drives or cpu, I don't think.

It's probably not the gpu because I used that yesterday, and it worked fine.

I've tried:
. Changing ram slots/configurations (A1 + A2, B1 + B2, A1, B1, A2 + B2, A1 + B1)
. Taking out storage sata cables (didn't change the issue)

I know my pc isn't posting because my motherboard speaker doesn't make any sounds, and the led on my mouse doesn't light up. The motherboard does seem to be working though, as my led strip and USB fan both work, and my speaker led turns on

My specs (atm)
Mobo: Asus m5a99x evo r2.0 am3+
CPU: Phenom ii x6 1090t
RAM: 8gb (4x2) DDR3 1866mhz dual channel memory (HyperX fury)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 960 2gb
Storage: x1 128gb 2.5" sata laptop hard drive (fujitsu), x1 WD 1tb sata hard drive

This is an urgent issue as I need a working pc for my work, and cannot do it from a phone.

Thank you,
Benjamin Lambeth

Put a single stick in A2 and try it.

Just tried that, and no difference.

So your pc doesn't POST and display out? I would try replacing the CR2032 battery with a fresh new CR2032 or DL2032, 3V.

Step 3 shows the RAM config and A2 is where 1 stick should go.  Are you 100% sure it's good RAM?

Not really, but it did work the last time I used it, and it's been sitting in a cardboard box for about a year. The motherboard does support that speed of ram.

I was thinking about doing that, but it seems to be a ram issue I think. I've cleared the cmos with the jumper, but that didn't make a difference. I'll try it tomorrow though (about 17.5h if you're not from the UK)

I've just tried some of my friend's corsair dominator platinum ram, still no luck though. I'm starting to worry it's the motherboard, that I can't return because I brought it used.
