so i'm modding my speakers to look better ie. im painting them and i was wondering if there was any way to make one of my larger 15" speakers into a computer and a speaker. i was thinking of putting a micro atx apu system  with a amd 7650 in it. i was going to use the entire front grill as a intake and exhaust system the speakers are yorkville xy15's and xy12's i have all of the metal painted and made them look really nine but if someone could help me figure out how to do the pc part of it that would be great.

If you're asking about "the PC part of it" then I don't think you should be posting in the audio subforum.

Anywho, the speaker box doesn't look big enough to fit a computer inside. Also, the enclosed box makes up part of how the speaker sounds - cutting it open would damage that.

true that this might not need to be in the audio section i guess that i was mostly thinking of them as speakers because ... well ... they are right now. and i was mostly thinking that the computer could go on a motherboard panel that would be attached to the bottom. also ive got 4 of these in a 5x4m room with a door in one corner and would likw to have surround sount (FL, FR, RL, and RR. and my desks are in somewhat the middle of the room with some space for the chair behind it. what would be the best way to get the best sound from them?? i had 1 on a desk in the corner, 1 too the right of my feet and the other two behind me. is there any of ther way to have them sound more ballenced other than getting a sound board and ajusting the volumes of the ones closer and further away from me?

I was hoping this was going to be thread about redesigning a speaker enclosure/driver for either SQ or visual improvement.   I had my calculator out and everything :(

I would just use a dry cloth. Maybe just ever so slightly damp one if necessary but stay away from cleaning solutions. The last thing you want is to dissolve your surrounds or the dust cap glue.

if it's paper cones, I'd avoid any liquid.

I would be worried about warping.

Will work for electronic components and parts
