Hi!

Is the processor good enough for a gtx 1070?  

Can I get better performance in the same budget?

I'm not interested in going Intel or making the parts worse quality or capacity than they are.

Holy crap that is unbalanced. Would you be ok with reducing unneeded cooling capacity in exchange for 1070Ti/Vega 56?

If there is a good quality but cheaper cooler, I could switch to 1070 ti yet both are overkill for 1080p gaming

edit: after buying this pc I will be able to get a 144hz monitor in december/january

Trade the 1600X for a 1600 if it's cheaper, get 3000mhz RAM.

I think the clock speeds, which determine gaming performance, are much higher on the 'X' version

Clock speeds themselves don't increase gaming performance.

 

You can easily overclock the 1600 to 1600X speeds. They are binned equally.

Just auto overclock it then. The 1600X, is, essentially a factory overclocked 1600 with XFR enabled.
